31: Wordplay

Wordplay hides a key to the reality that the dictionary
tries in vain to lock inside every free word.
- Julio Cortazar

I haven't been able to get over the wordplay done by the priest yesterday and so I decided to dedicate a post about it. c:
Though the game featured in this entry (I forgot what it's called) isn't entirely related with the word "wordplay", it was the only thing I could find here at home. Besides, the game deals with words after all and "wordplay" does so too. And so for this entry, I'll not only be talking about "wordplay" but of this game (who's name still escapes me) as well.

I remember having played this game when I was younger with my sisters and cousins. We'd take old notebooks or scratch papers and pencils out and play the game. Sometimes it was easy but most of the time it was hard. Haha'' But it was fun and a learning experience in one. It's too bad though that this game seems to be extinct nowadays. I miss playing this thing. c:

Wordplay has its certain charm. c: I don't know why but I find them amusing and when used correctly can create a good impact on people. c: Take for example Eminem and Jason Mraz, they are good with wordplay and they incorporate it in their songs. Makes me realize that wordplay is a skill and not everyone can do it quite easily as they do.

Anyway, I want to pose a challenge to you who's reading this post right now. Let's play the game. Write down all the words you could come up with using the photo above. Comment or send them to me via email. c:
Enjoy!

30: Beatitude

BEATITUDE = BE ATTITUDE

I actually got this from the priest during mass. It was part of his homily. He said that Jesus/God did'nt just "create" the Beatitudes for us to see or read in the bible and learn about from catechists or nuns or priests. They were created for us to follow and as he have said, make the Beatitudes your Attitude therefore Beatitude = Be Attitude. It was a simple wordplay with but it had a great impact and it means a lot more than it actually is right now (for me that is). That's why I want to share this with you today. c:

By the way, the picture is really (supposed to be) a clean, not crumpled blank sheet of paper. It didn't look quite right during the post-processing and so I used a crumpled texture I got from DA to make it look better (plus the ocean colors overlay too). c: I think this is my simplest entry yet. I have a kind of mix feelings with this photo. I want to trash it and not trash it. The photo is simple yet the words mean so much. Hmmm.. Any thoughts? Comment or email me.

29: Fast Car

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so you can fly away?
You got to make a decision

27: Reading

I find reading an aphrodisiac and orgasmic
leading me to climatic heights.
It's an obsession.
- KatEstraDalena

Finally! Something coming from me! Haha'' I dont really know how or why I came up with this thought but it's true.
It came to me last year, actually, one of those days again after reading lots of books and manga. I know that the words I used here are kind of lewd and I don't really have a good excuse for it except the fact that at that time, most of the books and manga I have read were about romance and yaoi manga. Haha''

Reading has always been a passion (an obsession of mine). I always find happiness in it. I have to thank my mother (and some of my teachers before) for this passion because without it I wouldnt be the person I am today.

This is also a shoutout to all those who share the same passion as I do.
Do you have any good books to recommend?
Or anything to share at all about your passion for reading?
Hook me up!

23: Kitten

She clawed her way into my heart and wouldn't let go.
-Missy Altijd

It was my midterms yesterday and because I was out the whole day on friday, I wasnt really able to study. Haha''
And so, during lunch break, I crammed for my next midterm exam that day. At first, I was studying so well. I got distracted by classmates but I was able to still go back to studying. However, this little fur ball here was a temptation.
It totally got me distracted. I wasn't able to go back to studying while it was right in front of me.
Belle, a classmate of mine who's also a fan of felines, played with her while I took pictures.
This little one was playful and a bit mischievous. She liked being petted, her tail told us so.
She was purring all the while we showered her with love and attention.
Truly, this little one clawed her way into our hearts and wouldn't let go.

22: Coffee

A cup of coffee shared with a friend
is happiness tasted and time well spent.

-Anonymous

This post is related to the previous post,  # 21: Eating With Friends
It's related because after eating out at mcdo, we moved to Starbucks to get some coffee
and continue hanging out over there. c:

We stayed outside the shop this time. Haha'' We didn't want to disturb the serious people who were drinking their coffee and minding their own business inside the shop. c: Besides, the guard was kinda strict so he might have kicked us out if we got too noisy. Moreover, there were some med students (my twin's classmates and schoolmates) studying too.

21: Eating with Friends

One of the delights of life is eating with friends,
Second to that is talking about eating.
And, for an unsurpassed double whammy,
there is talking about eating while you are eating with friends.

- Laurie Colwin

It was an unplanned date of sorts. We kinda just met in school by coincidence and decided then and there to eat out. c:
It was fun being able to spend some time with these guys after not being able to spend some time with them for several months after our graduation. I mean we met but not as long as that day. And so, after Miss D's class, we headed out to mcdo since it was the closest fast food that we all liked to go to.

We were able to talk about a lot of things. What has been going on with our individual lives and what not. Kidding around, laughing and just messing with each other. We were the only group of customers who were really very noisy. We didn't really care though. Haha'' They didn't know us anyway and we didn't know them as well. It's a win-win situation.
French Fries madness, murdered them with ketchup, and some monster floats on the go. It was fun.

I really look forward to seeing them again and this time, hopefully, there would be more of us rather than just us.
I mean, the more the merrier right? c:

This post is for you guys. c: Thank you Miss Destura, Adri, Hanna, and Yel. ♥
And also thank you to Sol and Ilot who joined us (although a bit late). ♥
See you on Valentine's Day! c:

P.S. The next post would be related to this one. Reason will be explained there. c:

19: It Was Nothing That You Said

It was nothing that you said.
It was everything you didn't say.
And all the tears I've shed, won't wash the pain away.
-Julia Fordham // It was nothing that you said

I woke up to a rainy day and the first thing that came to mind was to listen to Julia Fordham's album entitled "Girlfriend". I don't really know what came to me but I guess for me her songs were as soothing as the cold wind and the falling rain that day. The text from the photo are from the lines of Julia Fordham's song, "It was nothing that you said". This song is one of the songs in that album that really has the most impact to me. The reason however is something I cannot share for now but I am sure that all of you can somehow relate to this.

17: Dirty Chucks

I love wearing these.  I have three, as you can see. It's an obsession.
I don't really care where I go or what I wear just as long as I wear these babies. c:
Why do I like them so much? Because they are very durable and comfortable to wear.
 Moreover, I am not really "girlish" and I'm more of a tomboy. These babies and I are inseparable.
That does not mean I'm homo. So STFU.

Conclusion: Sandals / Flip Flops < Rubber Shoes.

So yeah, the text in the photo says it all.

I'm just a freak in DIRTY CHUCKS.

By the way, I would like to give credit to a friend of mine who gave me the idea
for the post-processing of the photos used for this entry. Momo-chan! Thank you so much!
Here's her entry. Click.

11: Death

For death is but a passing phase of life;
A change of dress; a disrobing;
A birth into the unborn again;
A commencing where we ended;
A starting where we stopped to rest;
A crossroad of eternity;
A giving up of something, to possess all things.
The end of the unreal, the beginning of the real.

- Edwin Liebreed, "The Song of the Soul"

Yesterday, I got a call from my grandmother. She had very bad news. My grandaunt had passed away at five pm in the afternoon. This post is for her. You will be missed Mommy Nora. I hope wherever you are, you are happy and alright. We love you.

7: Clouds

"Clouds may come, but clouds must go and they all have a silver lining.
For behind each cloud you know, the sun, or moon, is shining."
-Anonymous

It's been raining a lot lately ever since the start of the new year. It was kind of depressing because aside from the cold wind and gloomy atmosphere, I missed the sun and the clear sky. Moreover, I wasn't happy taking pictures in between rain fall to keep this blog going. And so, it was my great delight for waking up this morning to the sounds of chirping birds and of the warm light that filled my room. I looked out from the window closest to my bed and smiled as I gazed at the clear sky and basked on the warm sunlight. It was a good day for a photo shoot. Without further ado, I got out of bed and went out of the house carrying my mascot and a camera with me. I got the dogs out too and enjoyed several minutes of being out in the sun light. with them

Taking pictures, playing with my dogs, looking up at the sky, and basking in the warm sun light. It was a lovely morning. Too bad though, it lasted for just a few hours since rain clouds came again and everything became gloomy once more. However, I was still in a good mood and I didn't let the rain dampen my spirits anymore because I knew that behind those rain clouds was the sun shining down on me. :)

2: Faith

"Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted
in spite of your changing moods." - C.S. Lewis

We experience hardships.
We feel frustrations, stress, disappointment.
We are betrayed by the ones we love and those we give our trust to.

Sometimes, it makes us want to give up on everything.
It makes us lose hope.
Lose faith.

Why is this? Why do we tend to give up quite so easily?
It is because we over think things in our minds.
It is because we let our emotions take over us.
It is because we heavily rely on our reason.
We forget that we should not lose faith.

Having faith helps us get through hardships.
Having faith helps us overcome our frustrations, stress, and disappointment.
Trust may easily be broken but it can be build up again. We just got to have faith.

Remember, there's always some good left in this world.
Hope was the only thing left in Pandora's Box.
Have FAITH.
